Jon M. Queen Stresses the Need to Act against Climate Change

With higher temperatures and higher water vapor levels in the ocean, hurricanes gain intensity. Raised temperatures melt icebergs and snowcaps, cooling sea water in areas where moderate temperature is crucial in supporting marine ecosystems. Already barren to begin with, deserts become even drier as its wildlife and civilizations become crippled with drought. As sea levels rise, rainfall gets significantly heavier, and massive flooding from excess precipitate becomes the norm.
